Helping Babies Breathe is an initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which the World Health Organization (WHO) considers essential training for maternity workers.
Helping Babies Breathe is proven to reduce the newborn mortality rate by 47% according to one East African study. Bulamu is one of, if not the, largest provider of Helping Babies Training in Uganda.
Bulamu began providing Helping Babies Breathe and related newborn care training early in 2023. In the first three months following the training, maternity workers resuscitated and revived 135 babies!
