Dr. Annet Alenyo Ngabirano, MBChB, EMDM

Dr. Annet Alenyo Ngabirano is an emergency medicine physician based in Kampala. Previously, she worked as an Emergency Medicine Registrar in the Department of Health for the Western Cape in South Africa. Prior to this, Annet worked as Medical Officer, Intensive Care Unit, Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala from 2011 to 2014; as Medical Officer, Africa Air Rescue (AAR) in Kampala from 2009 to 2010; and as Medical Officer, Basic Surgical Centre in Kampala.

Annet holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBchB) from Mbarara University in Uganda, a European Master’s in Disaster Medicine (EMDM) from Universita del Piemonte Orientale in Italy, and Master of Medicine in Emergency Medicine (MMedEM), Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. She completed a Disaster Resilience Leadership Fellowship, Makerere University School of Public Health and Tulane University Disaster Resilience Academy, and Fellowships with the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa (FCEM SA), Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Annet is a published researcher and serves as the president of the Emergency Care Society of Uganda.
